For our family, April was a month of celebrating our son’s first birthday and Easter. Our purchases revolved around these two big occasions, and I can’t wait to share our favorites!

- Balloons – You can’t throw a birthday party without balloons! The color pallet for his birthday party was pastel blue, pastel green and pastel yellow. I ordered these balloons from Amazon for super cheap, blew them up myself, made my own balloon garland and used painters tape to stick them to the walls. Two things that I have learned: using painters tape leaves zero damage & purchasing an electric balloon machine is the way to go. I have owned my balloon machine for 5 years now and it has truly come in so much handy for birthday’s and holiday’s! I have
- Gingham Table Cloths – I love everything gingham and adding baby blue gingham tablecloths added the sweetest touch.
- Happy Birthday Banner – I own all of these birthday banners and love to reuse the silver banner and felt banner every year. The balloon banner is not reusable but great quality and was easy to blow up and hang!
- Flag Banner – this banner went perfectly with the color scheme and I hung it on our fireplace for a touch of decor. It’s so cute that I am going to use it in his room maybe on his bookshelves once we get them. (Edit: the banner I purchased from Target is sold out so I have linked some similar options below).
- Party Hats -The night before my son’s birthday, I lined up his stuffed animals and put party hats on them. When he woke up in the morning his reaction to seeing his little animals all ready to party was priceless! I also saved these in my birthday bucket to use for future events.
- Streamers – Streamers are an inexpensive way to add more festiveness to your birthday decor. I will add mine hanging from doorways, the ceiling or this year I strung them from our circular chandelier in the game room. My baby loved when we held him and ran him through all of the streamers.
- Birthday Boy Outfit – It was surprisingly harder than I thought to find a cute birthday boy outfit but when I saw this light blue r
- What I Wore – I wanted to wear something cute but also appropriate because I knew I would be on the floor for gifts and running around. This light blue gingham dress with built in shorts was perfect and so comfortable!
- High Chair Banner – There are so many cute high chair banners for one year olds but I loved the seersucker print of the one I linked below from Etsy. I also used this banner and taped it to the wall for the background of his one year old photos.
- Easter Outfit for Baby Boy – this Petit Ami was so dang cute and my son loved the bunny tail. It’s on sale right now so if you are expecting for next year or know someone who is this would be such a cute gift!
- Easter Basket – for his first Easter basket, I purchased both the basket and liner from Pottery Barn kids. As of right now the basket is sold out but you are still able to purchase the liner. I went with the large chambray color and personalized it with his name.
